Ingredients

  • 1 pack ButcherBox.ca Angus Ground beef ( or ground lamb)
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 3-4 green chilies, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • to taste salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • garnish Fresh coriander leaves

Method

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  2. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1-2 minutes until the raw smell disappears.
  3. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and oil starts to separate from the mixture.
  4. Mix in the ground meat and cook until it changes color, breaking it up with a spatula.
  5. Add turmeric, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook for another 5-7 minutes.
  6. Add diced potatoes and 1 cup of water. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to low.
  7. Cover and cook for 20-25 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the curry thickens.
  8. Sprinkle garam masala and adjust salt if needed. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  9. Serve hot with naan, roti, or steamed rice.
