Mahi Mahi
Fished by our Ocean Wise supplier, using ethical and sustainable methods, the mahi mahi with skin on, is commonly found in tropical or subtropical waters worldwide – such as the Gulf of Mexico or around Hawaii.
A mild tasting fish with a faintly sweet undertone, mahi mahi is known for its firm flesh that holds its shape well and holds up to stronger flavours – which makes it great for grilling and flavourful recipes such as curries.
Cooking tip – Insert the tines of a fork into the thickest portion of the fish at a 45° angle. Gently twist the fork and pull up some of the fish. If it flakes easily, without resistance, the fish is done – be careful not to overcook, as with any fish, this will make your mahi mahi chewy and dry.
