Spicy Crunchy Tuna Tartare is a restaurant-style appetizer that's so easy to make yourself and will impress your guests! Made with tuna, avocado and some panko for crunch.

Ingredients and Method
Ingredients
- 12 oz ButcherBox.ca sushi grade Ahi tuna steaks, finely chopped
- 4 tsp pure sesame oil
- 1 tsp rice wine
- 4 tsp fresh lime juice
- 3 tsp soy sauce (or gluten free tamari)
- 1.5 tsp sriracha (or to taste)
- 4 tbsp chives, minced
- 3 tbsp panko crumbs (plain OR gluten free)
- 1 - 2 ripe, firm, Hass Avocado, peeled, pitted and diced
- 2 tsp mix black and white sesame seeds
Method
- 1. Combine sesame oil, rice wine, lime juice, soy sauce and sriracha in a medium bowl.
- 2. Poor over tuna and mix.
- 3. Add chives and gently combine tuna mixture with diced avocado, refrigerate until ready to serve.
- 4. Add panko crumbs just before serving and top with sesame seeds.
- 5. Serve on/with cucumber or zucchini slices; crackers, crisps, naan or bread of your choosing.
