Ingredients and Method

Ingredients

  • 2 ButcherBox.ca Tuna Steaks
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Method

  1. In a shallow dish, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, grated ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, honey, and black pepper.
  2. Place the tuna steaks in the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes at room temperature, or up to 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
  5. Remove the tuna steaks from the marinade, letting any excess drip off. Discard the remaining marinade.
  6. Place the tuna steaks on the preheated grill.
  7. Grill for 3-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer depending on your desired doneness.
  8. Remove the tuna steaks from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
  9. Notes:
  10. For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade.
  11. You can substitute tamari for soy sauce for a gluten-free option.
  12. Serve with steamed rice and your favorite Asian-inspired vegetables.
