Ingredients and Method
Ingredients
- 1 lb ButcherBox.ca 100% grass fed ground sirloin
- 2 tbsp ButcherBox.ca 100% grass fed organic salted butter, melted
- 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- to taste Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper
- for garnish Italian flat leaf parsley, chopped
Method
- Preheat oven to 375F, line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown ground sirloin until fully cooked with no pink remaining - breaking into smaller pieces as you cook. Drain any excess fat and remove from heat.
- In a glass bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, cream cheese and shredded cheddar, along with salt and pepper until well combined.
- Open your can of biscuits and separate - pull them apart through the middle, so you have a top and a bottom.
- Use your thumb to make an indentation on the bottom, place a spoonful of ground beef into the divot. Top with some of the cheese mixture - try to leave room for the biscuit halves to cook together. Cover with the other half of the biscuit. Arrange on baking sheet.
- In a small bowl combine melted butter with grated Parmesan cheese. Brush the top of each biscuit with a generous coating of the Parmesan butter.
- Place in preheated oven and bake for 12 - 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving, garnish with chopped parsley.
