Ingredients and Method
Ingredients
- 1/2 package ButcherBox.ca Bacon
- 2 lbs fresh green beans trimmed
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside on a paper towel. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the bacon drippings in the skillet.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the reserved bacon drippings, packed brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until well combined.
- Add the trimmed fresh green beans to the bowl with the sauce and toss until they are fully coated.
- Spread the coated green beans in a single layer on a large rimmed baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the beans are tender-crisp and the sauce has caramelized.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven, sprinkle with the cooked bacon bits, and serve immediately.
